Weapons Training
Applied weapons systems — traditional and modern
Applied weapons training at Imperial Combat Arts covers traditional weapons alongside blade and impact weapons, including knife, short blade, club, and improvised tools. Emphasis is placed on structure, distance, timing, and responsible application.
Weapons are taught as extensions of body mechanics and tactical principles rather than isolated specialties. The same principles of structure, movement, and positioning that govern empty-hand combat apply directly to weapons application. This integration ensures that weapons proficiency develops naturally alongside other combat skills.
Training Includes
- Traditional Chinese weapons — staff, spear, broadsword, straight sword
- Applied blade weapons — knife, short blade
- Impact weapons — club and improvised tools
- Distance management and timing under realistic conditions
- Responsible application and decision-making
Training reinforces coordination, structural integrity, and the ability to make tactical decisions under pressure. Students develop proficiency with both traditional and practical weapons within the framework of the broader Imperial Combat Arts system.
